Why use a birth pool?
Using a birth pool during labor can be incredibly supportive for both comfort and progress. The warmth of the water helps relax muscles, which often allows contractions to feel more manageable and effective. Many women find that being in the water helps them stay grounded, reduces tension, and gives them more freedom to move into positions that feel right for their body. Whether you plan to give birth in the water or simply labor in it, a birth pool can create a more peaceful and intuitive experience.

Who is this for?
Birth pool rentals are a great option for a wide range of families. This includes those planning a home birth, birth center clients who want to labor in water before heading in, and even hospital clients who want to use water for comfort during early labor at home. Even if you’re still exploring your options, having access to a birth pool can give you more flexibility and support during labor.

Is it safe & clean?

Cleanliness and safety are a top priority with every rental. Each birth pool is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between uses using a consistent, high standard process. Every client receives a brand new, single-use liner, so you are never in direct contact with the pool itself. The cleaning supplies used are non-toxic and designed specifically for birth use. We take care to ensure that your setup is both safe and hygienic, so you can feel fully comfortable using the pool in your home.

Do I need a midwife to rent a birth pool?

No, you do not need to be a Levana Birth client to rent a pool. We offer rentals to families planning home births, birth center births, or hospital births who want to use water during labor.

How long can I keep the pool?

Rental timing is designed to give you flexibility around your due date. We’ll go over the details when you reserve your pool, but typically pickup is at 37 weeks and drop off is within a week after your birth.

What if I don’t end up using it?

That’s completely okay. Many families choose to have the option available even if they’re unsure, and it can still provide peace of mind going into labor.

Is it difficult to set up?

Not at all. The setup process is simple, and we provide everything you need along with clear instructions.

When do I set it up?

Most families wait until active labor begins to set up the pool, but we will provide guidance so you feel prepared and confident.

How do I drain it?

You will need a submersible pump (available with our deluxe rental package) which you will attach to the hose and run into the toilet, bathtub, our outside depending on your preference. Draining it into the toilet is usually the best and cleanest option.

I’m not sure which pool to choose
